Edward Boyd (1916-1989) was born in Stevenston, now in South Ayrshire, Scotland. He worked mainly in radio and television. He was a prominent figure in the world of theatre, radio and television for many years. He was a member of Glasgow Unity Theatre in the 1940s and worked with them as stage manager, actor and director. He wrote many plays for radio and television.
